Agriculture, Paris: de l'Imprimerie Royale, 1774-1782. 2 parts in one volume, 4° (274 x 214mm.), half title, engraved frontispiece by Y. le Gouaz after Saint-Quentin, each title with vignette after Marillier, 7 engraved plates after Loutherbourg and Saint-Quentin, headpieces (half title and frontispiece almost detached, a few light marginal stains), contemporary tree calf gilt, gilt spine, red morocco lettering-piece, sprinkled edges (two small repairs at front joint of head and tail of spine, lightly rubbed). FIRST EDITION. Cohen-de-Ricci 889: "belle illustrations"; Ray French 65: "So easy, firmly modelled, and well arranged are Loutherbourg's compositions that they achieve a natural poetry quite as appealing as the magnificent confections of Moreau for the Chansons of la Borde."
