2° (319 x 210mm.) Black letter in double column, engraved portrait frontispiece, title within a historiated and architectural border, with the final errata leaf (portrait, title and errata leaf cut out and mounted, all probably from another copy, small hole in L3 with no loss of text, fore-margin of the last few leaves frayed, slight browning). Early 19th-century half calf (both covers detached, spine somewhat worn and lacks label).
The last of the 'early' editions of Chaucer. There was no further reprint of the works until 1687. STC 5080.
