An unusual late 19th-Century brass timepiece with aneroid barometer mounted to simulate a single cylinder beam engine,
the barometer mounted below the open topped cylinder and the timepiece below the centre column of the engine, in twin incorporating a thermometer graduated in degrees Farenheit (bulb and tube missing), the decorative beam with barrelled connecting rod, crankshaft with gear driven rod drive and rocking lever operated [?] pump shaft, the cast brass framework mounted on a mahogany plinth on a brass bedplate with four bun feet, unpainted --15½ x 12¾in. (39.4 x 32.5cm.)
