An unusual 19th-Century lacquered and oxidised-brass French microscope,
signed NACHET A PARIS, with a circular [?]lamp holder moved by rack and pinion motion over the mechanical stage, supported on three turned brass columns above the objective lens with rack and pinion focusing and micrometer fine adjustment, mounted on top of the 4-inch (10.2cm.) diameter body-tube, a mirror at the bottom to reflect the image up the secondary tube at an angle to main body-tube, with objective mount (lens missing) on a splayed tripod stand with mirror adjustment to the uderside and folding legs -- 25in. (63.5cm.) high
