A fine 18th-Century universal equinoctial ring dial,
unsigned, with sliding bridge and suspension loop, one side of the meridian ring with an engraved quadrant scale and the names and latitudes of nine continental cities and towns, the other side with the latitudes for a further eleven cities and towns, one side of the hour dial with hours I-XII (x2) with corresponding markings oin the inside edge, the other side with the latitudes of a further eleven cities and towns, the bridge with engraved foliate decoration at either end, zodiac scale with sigils on one side and calendar scale with initials for the months on the other, with sliding pin-hole sight -- 3¾in. (9.5cm.) diameter
