THE ELTHAM by STANLEY LONDON the telescope with objective dust shade, the silvered scale revolving within a fixed vertical circle with bubble level and twin glazed apertures, verniers and magnifiers, the axis supported on two A frames, with prismatic magnifier with graduated adjustment to view the scale within the horizontal circle, with bubble level and two clamps, on three adjustable screw feet, with tripod mounting contained in the origial fitted wooden carrying case, the lid with a Stanley label and number 4909, the lid also stamped JOHN WOODROW & SONS BUILDERS LTD BRIDGE OF WEIR, with brass hooks and a leather carrying strap -- 17¼in. (43.8cm.) wide; and a black-enamelled Stanley level with twin bubble levels, objective dust-cover and shade, adjustable screw feet and tripod mounting, in the original carrying case, with a Stanley repair and adjustment label in the lid from 1951, further with John Woodrow & Sons' stamping, and with a receipt from Stanley for the adjustments carried out, the case with two brass hooks and a leather carrying strap -- 13½in.
