Private Ernest Rickard, who was from Cornwall and latterly a Lance-Corporal, was killed in action in the fighting on Welsh Ridge, France, on 8.12.1917, while serving with the 1st R.M. Battalion, Royal Naval Division. Aged 27 years, he left a widow.
