Sergeant L. Dawe, D.C.M., M.M., who was from Walthamstow, London, first entered the French Theatre of War as a Corporal in the Royal Horse Artillery in mid-December 1914. Subsequently transferring to the Royal Field Artillery, he went on to win the D.C.M. and M.M., both for services with D. 112 Brigade, R.F.A.
