Chief Petty Officer Telegraphist Benjamin William Johnson, D.S.M., was serving aboard the Escort Carrier H.M.S. Queen at the time of receiving the above award. The holder of Battle Honours for "Norway 1945" and "Arctic 1945", the Queen hosted 853 Squadron, F.A.A., which unit went into action in Avengers and Wildcats.
