THREE-QUARTER VINE-BRANCH BORDER on first text leaf [2/1r], incorporating 7-line initial C, illuminated in gold and colors by a contemporary hand, wreath in the lower margin with coat-of-arms. (Some worming, occasionally catching letters, occasional light marginal soiling, some blue initials faded with some pigment offset.) 19th-century English red morocco gilt (rebacked). Provenance: some early marginalia -- Charles Spencer (1674-1722), Earl of Sunderland (shelfmarks) -- Bibliotecha Richteriana (bookplate) -- Estelle Doheny (morocco bookplate; purchased from Philip C. FIRST EDITION of Cyprian's works. The 1471 edition of Vindelinus de Spira, Venice (Goff C-1011) is reprinted from this edition. The editor, Bussi, prepared most of the early books for the press of Sweynheym and Pannartz in Rome.
