Chancery 2o (278 x 200 mm). Collation: [14; 2-218 2210]. 173 leaves (of 174; without the final blank). 33 lines. Roman type 3:112. Capital spaces. (Some occasional mostly marginal light spotting and soiling, single wormhole in lower margin.) 19th-century brown panelled morocco gilt, covers with gilt-stamp of Ralph Sneyd, by H. Stamper (covers slightly faded, some light wear at extremities). Provenance: Ralph Sneyd (binding; sold Sotheby's London, 30 November 1927, lot 514) -- Estelle Doheny (morocco bookplate; purchased from Maggs Bros., London, 31 August 1944) --donated to SMS 1944.
The Bishop of Aleria's epistle of 1/1v shows that the translator worked from the Latin edition of Sweynheym and Pannartz, Rome 1470 or one of its reprints.
