Initial spaces, printed vertical catchwords at end of each quire (except 4,5,8,10). Nine 5-line and smaller illuminated initials, other initials and paragraph marks supplied in red and blue, section head-lines traced in red, capital strokes in yellow. (1/8 reinforced along gutter, slight abrasion to initials, worming mainly in the first two quires and final two leaves occasionally catching letters, first text leaf slightly soiled, some pale marginal dampstaining, final quire sprung.) ?16th-century Italian vellum over pasteboard (a bit soiled, hinges cracked). Provenance: presentation inscription on 12/8v dated 3 April 1569) -- faintly impressed ink stamp on 1/1r -- W.H.H.
