FIRST EDITION, variant in quarto, with the name of the printers on the colophon and 10/3.4 with 17 and 16 lines to a page (as in BMC IA.29817, Hain and Polain (B) 2645). Another variant is found in octavo, with a colophon naming Bartholomaeus Campanus Ponticuruanus, who was actually a press-reader and is often confused for Valdezoccho himself. A third variant is found also in quarto, with the colophon as here but with 10/3.4 reset. RARE: the last copy to appear at auction was the Eric Sexton copy (Christie's New York, 8 April 1981, lot 116). BMC VII, 905 (IA.29817); CIBN M-244 (variant); HC 10924; Harvard/Walsh 2796 (variant); Pr 6761; Goff M-380 (naming Bartholomaeus Campanus Ponticuruanus printer).
