2o (312 x 217 mm). Gothic types, double column, printed in red and black. With two additional leaves (ff.216-217) containing the Mass for Saint Francis de Paul inserted at end (not called for in the collation printed on f.216v, not in Weale-Bohatta). Large title-page woodcut of angels holding a large crown of thorns (the center illuminated in blue and gold), Giunta's florentine lily device, large woodcut (repeated twice) within broad woodcut borders of angel musicians and scenes from the life of Christ, additional woodcut borders showing the Apostles, last supper, and other scenes, historiated woodcut initial capitals from various sets, printed musical notation: square notes printed in black on a four-line staff printed in red. (Minor stain to upper gutter margins of first few quires, occasional spotting.) Contemporary blindstamped Italian calf over wooden boards, panelled with a central lozenge containing a small stamp of the Virgin and child, later gilt-lettered spine label, edges stained blue (lacks clasps and catches, rubbed.) Provenance: Societatis Aurificum (inscription on title and large illuminated emblem of a golden chalice on a blue ground) -- Aldenham House, Herts.
