A LOUIS XV ORMOLU-MOUNTED TULIPWOOD, SATINÉ, AMARANTH AND FRUITWOOD MARQUETRY BUREAU

The undulating top inlaid with a ribbon-tied floral spray within a shaped cartouche above the serpentine fall-front inlaid with a floral bouquet issuing from a basket with birds and butterflies concealing a fitted interior with two tiers each with three small drawers, the platform inlaid with scrolls and a central slide hiding a well flanked by two further slides with secret wells, the writing surface lined with black leather, above a drawer inlaid with foliate sprays issuing from a flower, the shaped sides with a central cross within a shaped cartouche and on cabriole legs terminating with foliate sabots, the underside stamped 'DAUTRICHE', the lower right shaped drawer to the inside of the bureau with Pietro Accorsi trade label, inscribed in blue ink '399a.', the fitted interior probably later, remounted
40 in. (101.5 cm.) high, 40½ in. (103 cm. wide) 25½ in. (65 cm.) deep.
