A series of concentric circles representing the sun and planetary orbits are emplyed in The Newtonian System of the Universe, one of a group of astronomical engravings inteded to demonstrate that the earth is at the center of the universe. George Baxter used is oil-color priting technique for these planetary charts by Isaac Frost, an artist and scientist associated with a Victorian sect known as the Muggletonians.
