A PAIR OF CHINESE EXPORT PAINTINGS ON GLASS WITHIN GILTWOOD FRAMES
The reverse paintings late 18th early 19th Century, the frames possibly Danish or German and late 18th Century
One depicting a Chinese lady seated in an interior in front of a window, with painting equipment and fruits on a table beside her and a dog lying at her feet, the other with a seated man with a flower-filled vase and fruit on a table beside him, below a canopy decorated with a dragon, each set within a later rectangular panelled mirrored slip surmounted by a foliate pergoda cresting with hanging tassels and foliate finial, old horizontal break to lower part of mirror with female figure, the mirrored panelled slips and cresting probably added in the 19th Century
