Cross-banded overall and inlaid with green-stained geometric banding, the later moulded canted rectangular grey-veined white marble top, above a frieze-drawer inlaid with vases and writing equipment, above a fall-front inlaid with books, a music sheet, a candlestick, a flower-filled vase, a lidded flask and various writing equipment on a bureau plat, enclosing a fitted interior with four open compartments and six drawers, the lower section with two doors inlaid with a neo-classical urn with flower sprigs, enclosing a plain interior with one shelf, the sides conformingly inlaid with foliate vases, the canted angles with simulated fluting, on block feet, stamped '...AUMONT' once and 'JME' twice, remounted, restorations to the marquetry
