A Vincennes bleu lapis sugar-bowl and cover (pot a sucre Calabre)
1754, underglaze blue interlaced L's enclosing date letter B in overglaze blue enamel flanked by four dots, two underglaze blue dots and incised 0 near the footrim
Painted with exotic birds in flight, two with an olive branch in their beak, within gilt scroll and trailing foliage cartouches between gilt line and dentil rims, the shallow domed cover with a white and gilt carnation finial (small crack to rim of bowl, minute chipping to foliage of finial, slight wear to gilt upper rim)
3¼ in. (8.2 cm.) wide
