A Böttger seated pagoda figure Circa 1720
Seated with his right hand resting on his raised right knee, his left leg tucked beneath his right, with a laughing face, pierced mouth and ears, his eyebrows, eyes and moustache enriched with gilding, his bald head gilt with a large lobster, his partly-exposed torso gilt with two necklaces enriched with blue enamel, wearing a loose white garment incised with folds edged with gilding and gilt with scattered insects, beasts, lobsters, stars and other geometric designs (minute frit to right ear, minute wear to gilding)
