A Meissen allegorical group of Love
Circa 1750
Modelled as three cupids, one blind-folded and choosing a scroll from a dish on an oval table with gilt cabriole legs, his companion scantily draped in a pale yellow flowered cloak and seated on a pink-upholstered high-back chair, another putto resting between them and inscribing a book Di Mille amanti un bea.., on an elaborate shaped oval scroll-moulded base enriched with gilding and applied with coloured flowers and foliage (restoration to blind-folded cupid's right hand, seated cupid's right wing, and the third cupid's right hand and both feet, some minor restoration and chipping to extremities, flowers and foliage)
