A Meissen model of an exotically-caparisoned dromedary Circa 1750, blue crossed mark at back
Modelled by J.J. Kändler with brown fur, a black and gilt bridle, and gilt-belled ornament to the upper and lower neck, the animal's hump flanked by two paniers covered by a pale-puce gilt-tasselled blanket moulded with two richly-gilt rococo-scroll escutcheons above an entwined olive and palm branch surmounted by a fabulous ostrich plume of red, blue and grey feathers, supported by rockwork on an oval rockwork base applied with coloured flowers (lower neck ornament lacking one bell, blanket lacking one gilt tassel, some restoration to plume, minute chipping to flowers)
