The deep rectangular box with rounded corners and domed cover, fitted with a removable tray and one lower drawer, decorated on the cover and each of the four sides in gold takamaki-e and hiramaki-e on a nashiji ground with scenes of Mount Horai, including cranes and minogame in a landscape of streams and hills, with plum, bamboo and camellia, the rims fundame, the interior, base, and tray roiro and nashiji, mounted with gilt-copper ring fittings cast as sprays of peony, and a drawer-pull incised with a dragon
