Meiji Period
decorated in gilt with Egyptian-style figures and mythical animals in ceremonial scenes within a band of lappets, the sides with similar scenes between vertical columns, on short tripod feet, the hinged cover with attached chain, the interior incised with scrolling foliage, mount Fuji Komai mark to base -- 4in. (10.1cm.) diam., (minor wear).
