Lot Essay

With the same bow-back design and dramatically splayed legs with a pronounced lower swell, this set of chairs is almost identical to another set of six branded SHOVE BERKLEY signifying Abraham Shove. See Evans, American Windsor Chairs (New York, 1996), pp. 371-372, fig. 6-223.
