The carved crest with applied elements, above a similar gallery over an outset rectangular case with projecting quarter round upper section fitted with two conforming and panelled doors with applied ornament, each door with letter slot, one marked LETTERS and the other MANUFACTURED BY THE WOOTEN DESK CO. INDIANAPOLIS IND. PAT. OCT.6 1874, the doors opening to reveal a compartmented interior with hinged writing surface opening to reveal a further compartmented interior, all over a shaped skirt, on paired downscrolling legs, fitted with castors
