A BLUE AND WHITE PART DINNER SERVICE
First half 18th century
Each piece painted in tones of underglaze blue with a small bird perched on a leafy branch beside large chrysanthemum blooms and buds, the rims with a border of peonies and fruits growing from weathered rocks, on the backs four ribbon-tied sacred emblems, comprising:
A large circular mazarine dish and strainer, 17 3/8in. (44.2cm.) diam. A pair of sauceboats and leaf-shaped stands, 8in. (20.3cm.) long
Three deep oval dishes, 14½ to 13½in. (36.8 to 34.3cm.) wide
Two oval platters, 12 3/8 and 11¼in. (31.4 and 28.6cm.) wide
Three large plates, 11 1/8in. (28.2cm.) diam.
Six large plates, 10 3/8in. (26.3cm.) diam.
Five plates, 9in. (22.9cm.) diam.
