A saucer with this decoration is illustrated by Hervouet and Bruneau, op. cit., p. 264 who tentatively identify the subject as the arrest of Christ. The mournful sound of the horn is associated with tragedy, and the Bible does refer to Jesus rising in the sound of the trumpet (I Thes. 4:16)
