A MASSIVE CHINESE IMARI JAR AND COVER
Circa 1720
Of swelling baluster form and exuberantly decorated with two blue lotus pods issuing large, stylized buds and blooms, some with pomegranate centers and petals decorated with gilt floral sprigs, others issuing bouquets of smaller flowers, all growing on blue stems with curling iron-red and blue leaves, a border below of flower-filled lappets and an iron-red collar on the shoulders filled with further blooms, repeated on the cover beneath a pointed blue knop
