Christie's charges a Buyer's premium calculated at… 顯示更多 Born in the Dutch Indies in 1909, the artist and illustrator Charles Burki showed an enormous talent for technical designs. His virtuosity made him to a well known publicity designer for a.o. Philips, Shell, Goodyear and DAF. After his move to the Netherlands in 1935 the motorbike would become a central theme in the artist's extensive oeuvre. This resulted in weekly drawings and cartoons for the magazine Motor. Later in his career Burki also dedicated himself to book illustrations and free work.
