Translation of the Arab text:
On the evening of October 8th, 1988. Ali Giero Boetti is invited to embroider in the house of a friend, Abdul Jalil, in the city of Bischawar. They suddenly hear that the city of Ghand-har has been liberated from the Soviet occupation. This message becomes the occassion for a celebration feast for all present. The city of Ghand-har was the capital of Afghanistan during the reign of King Ahmed Abdul-lahi.

Translation of the Italian text:
the irregular verbs - touches and (bell) tollings - respects and annoyances - for new desires - to give time time - between dog and wolf - to do sweet nothing - centres of thought - order and disorder - the reflexive verbs - to read vertically - to be hungry for wind - rule and regulate oneself - Peshawar Pakistan - it makes the mouth water - to be thirsty for fire - from form to truth - silence is golden - certainty and uncertainty - essence and substance - I'm not not leaving, I'm not staying - to kill time - imagine everything - unexpectedly - Alighiero e Boetti - covered and uncovered things - fused but not confused - to piss in one's mouth - to make everything square - encounters and collisions - normal and abnormal - the new autonomies
