Two weeks after D-Day and the landing at Normandy marked the beginning of the last days of Nazi Germany, Sir Winston writes Don Guillermo, possibly the Cuban ambassador, with appreciation for a special wartime shipment of which he is particularly fond. "My dear Excellency, Thank you so much for the cigars which Your Excellency was good enough to send me. I greatly appreciate this kindness. It was very agreeable to see you at luncheon the other day.
