A GROUP OF LOUIS XV PARCEL-GILT AND GREEN-PAINTED WALL PANELLING
Possibly German, basically mid 18th Century, alterations and adaptations in the late 19th and early 20th centuries,
Comprising: a pair of overmantles, one with a mirror and one without; seven main panels each with scrolled crest and acanthus, c-scroll and floral carving; a pair of full length panels; four open grill cabinet doors; a pair of panelled doors; eight small main panels; one open cupboard; three narrow tall panels with later molding and no carving, one with a hole for a light switch; four narrow concave tall panels with carving; two shorter tall narrow panels with carving; one convex tall narrow panel without carving; with additional ceiling moldings and many bearing numbers and paper labels, regilt, redecorated, some of the applied carving has been placed onto a later plywood ground, the open shelves and cabinet of 20th Century construction and incorporating earlier carved elements
