A sampler by Jean Young dated 1817, worked in coloured silks on linen, with bands of letters and numerals, figures bearing flowers, peacocks, birds and with various animals and trees, the lower section with Adam and Eve, trees, flowers and initials, all within a border of honeysuckle--17½ x 13in. (44.5 x 33cm.), framed and glazed, possibly Scottish
