A Small Boxed Compass and Two Telescopes
Wilcox Crittenden & Co., American, 20th century, and others.
A small boxed dinghy compass, gimballed in a dove-tailed mahogany box with removeable cover. Affixed to the inside cover is the maker's label. Along with the compass are two hand held telescopes; the larger, a single draw scope with a brass tube, leather cover, lens shades and covers, and signed J.J. Messer, London./Day or Night. The second is a small dual draw telescope un-signed with brass tubes, eyepiece cover and leather grip.
5¾ x 5¾ x 4¼ in. (14.5 x 14.5 x 10.7 cm.) compass box, 20½ in. long larger telescope. (3)
