H.E Boucher & Co. was one of the primary model builders for the New York Yacht Club. Boucher Mfg. Co. originally started as a naval architecture firm in New York City and by the turn of the century developed into one of the premier model building companies in the world. The period between 1910-1918 was the peak of Boucher's modeling career, turning out numerous different models in various formats with creative displays. They employed over 100 people at the peak of their business and were only to be rivaled by Bassett-Lowke of the United Kingdom in size, quality and quantity of production. In addition to the NYYC they built models for many other institutions and yacht clubs including the Smithsonian Institute.
