A Pond Model Of A 30" Racing Cutter
Anonymous; British, 19th century
A solid hull model, built up from the solid and finished bright. Affixed to the keel is a lead weight and a brass rudder. The deck, which is also of mahogany, is scored with the planking lines and is also finished bright. The deck of the model is fitted with stem fitting with bowsprit tube and mast partners, deck hatch, brass toe rail, travelers, tiller, stern plate and other brass details. The model is fitted with standing and running rigging (new) and a full suit of sails. The model is displayed on a mahogany stand.
