Lot Essay

Staddle stones were orginially used to raise granaries and other dry agricultural storage buildings off the ground to prevent wet rot and destruction from vermin. Therefore these stones can vary in shape and type of stone according to regional influences, and have been used since the 18th century agricultural revolution.
