Universal Studios Posters for Universal horror films from the early 1930s to the 1940s command the highest prices of any film genre. Amongst these posters, those featuring the classic monsters, Frankenstein, Dracula, the Mummy and the Wolf Man, fetch the highest prices. The following twenty-three lots make up the largest group of Universal horror posters to have been offered at auction. The rarity and desirability of these posters is reflected in the prices they achieve at auction. The world record for a poster sold at auction is held by the one-sheet for The Mummy which realised $453,000 in 1997, followed closely by the one-sheet for Frankenstein, which realised $198,000 in 1993.
