A Japanese Shibayama-style ivory and silver tray
19th Century
of rectangular shape with foliate rim, the central ivory panel inlaid in mother-of-pearl, coral, horn and stained ivory with fish swimming amongst lotus pods beneath an overhanging blossoming tree, the openwork border with enamel flower heads, simulated bamboo feet, sealmark to base -- 6½in. (16.5cm.) wide, (minor wear).
