Collation as GW. 286 leaves. 52 lines and headline, double column. Gothic types, some Greek. Large woodcut of Ambrosius at his writing desk. Initials, paragraph marks and capital strokes in red, woodcut with red highlights. (Occasional light browning or soiling, upper corner of first leaf clipped just touching two letters, final blank corner torn, index tabs removed with occasional marginal tear, small ink burn in a3.) A reimboitage re-using as upper cover 15th-century blindstamped calf over bevelled wooden boards (worn, leather partially renewed, remains of clasps and evidence of chain staple), lower cover 19th-century calf over pasteboard (rebacked, scuffed).
