LOUIS LATOUR
Louis Latour's reputation for white-making stands deservedly high, and no wine more consistently so than its Corton-Charlemagne, where the firm owns a dominant 9 hectares (21 acres) of the historic slope. This appellation is regularly consumed while still youthful, but in a great Burgundy vintage - such as 1978 - it can age magnificently. They also regularly produce one of the richest, most long-flavoured, age worthy of Montrachets. AH
