A LOUIS XV ORMOLU-MOUNTED TULIPWOOD, AMARANTH AND MARQUETRY COMMODE

With later moulded rectangular breccia marble top, the bombé front fitted with two pink material-lined drawers inlaid sans traverse with a spray of summer flowers in stained and engraved woods on a quartered tulipwood ground and mounted with foliate C-scroll lockplates and handles, the sides similarly inlaid, the angles with well-chased pierced foliate C-scrolls and cabochons, on cabriole legs with foliate scrolled sabots, stamped 'B. DURAND' and 'JME', with paper label on the reverse indistinctly inscribed '392' and with remains of chalk inscription '3641', remounted, previously with further mounts to drawers, sides and apron, restorations to veneers
