A FAMILLE ROSE ARMORIAL SOUP-PLATE FOR THE SWEDISH MARKET
Circa 1750
Enamelled at the centre with standing figures of Neptune and another supporter holding two large conch shells on which are reserved oval medallions, one with a cypher and the other with a winged griffin crest, both surmounted by a coronet, to one side of the group is a small wheel, anchor, dividers, and an open book with the initials G and AA, all below gilt spearheads in the well, the border with vignettes of the cypher and crest divided by two others with figures, one naked and the other seated in a carriage, each surrounded by gilt scrolling foliage below the moulded wavy, chipped
9½ in. (24 cm.) diam.
