A young lady called Madame de Pompadour, reclining on a blue covered seat holding a letter, facing right in décolleté blue dress with white underslip and pink stole with ribbons, pearl bracelet, pink ribbon in her curled fair hair
oval, 3 3/8 in. (85 mm.) high, four-colour gold frame chased with foliage on a sablé border, silver sides and later gilt-metal backing
