A SWISS ENAMELLED AND JEWELLED GOLD CARNET-DE-BAL
Geneva, circa 1780/1800, struck with prestige marks
Slightly tapering rectangular étui-à-tablettes with arched top, both sides of cover and base with horizontal wavy guilloché panels covered with translucent blue enamel, within borders of white enamel and gold-edged blue enamel dotting, both obverse and reverse of cover applied with silver-mounted rose-cut diamond inscription SOUVENIR, the obverse of the base centred by an oval enamel panel of Venus and Cupid within blue and white enamel border, the reverse of the base with similarly framed glazed scrolling and pierced gold monogram 'MS'
