Paris, 1768/1769, with the discharge mark of Julien Alaterre 1768-1774, the first and second counter-marks of Henry Clavel 1780-1782 and 1782-1789 and the counter-mark of Jean-François Kalendrin 1789-1792
Upright box of octagonal section, the hinged lid and base chased with green-gold swirling flowerheads on a matted octogon within reeded borders, the burnished gold sides chased with green-gold garlands hung from rosettes surrounded by concentric circles, the side pilasters engraved with interwoven ovolos forming paterae, old-mine cut diamond-set push-button, inside with an associated tapering cut-glass flask with gold-knobbed stopper
