A LOUIS XV GOLD CANE HANDLE
by Pierre Flament (fl. 1734-1767), marked, Paris, 1738/1739, with the charge and discharge marks of Louis Robin 1738-1744
Cane handle of tapering inversed baluster form, the top chased with trophies on a matted ground surrounded by three shells, the sides chased with further shells, husks and rocaille volutes on a polished ground, reeded border at the shaft
