The three gold coins are, from left to right: a Roman aureus of Antoninus Pius (138-161), the reverse with Apollo, an Ostrogothic solidus of Justinian I (527-565), the reverse with an angel holding a cross, and a Roman aureus of Marcus Aurelius (161-180), the reverse with Fides.
A group of other snuff-boxes, also in the neoclassical style, from the collection of Cambacérès was sold Christie's, Geneva, 15 November 1994, lots 91-105.
