Lot Essay

James Muspratt, the father of Edmund and Emma established a chemical manufacturing company in Liverpool. It was while Emma was ill that a friend, Baron Justus von Liebig, invented an easily assimilable meat extract which was the technological and commercial beginning of Bovril.
